In the spirit of the holiday season, we are opening the submissions period up early. The regular submissions period will run from 12/5/2015-1/15/2016. We will not begin reading these submissions until January, though. So expect a longer wait time of you submit on the first day.
This year we are looking for a few things: poetry collections, poetry chapbooks, essay collections, memoirs, short story collections, and lengthy journalism.
While we are interested in novels and novellas, we request that NO SERIES-BASED FANTASY WORK shows up in our inbox. We do not publish fantasy work. We will not publish your 8-book series. The novels that we are looking for can be popular fiction, literary fiction, and experimental fiction.
Please submit your query letter and 25-page sample to email@example.com
You should strictly follow the Writer Guidelines or we guarantee that you will not hear back from us. In the past, many writers forget to put their contact info (email) in the body of their manuscript. We don't always keep your query letter, so it is imperative to insert your contact info...if you follow standard manuscript formatting, this won't be an issue...
Authors interested in being considered for our 12 Days of Christmas project. If you haven't heard of the project, let us explain:
Between today, 12/3/15 and 12/6/2015, we are inviting poets to send their chapbooks and fiction writers to submit a novella (less than 50 pages) to our acquisitions department.
The pieces must be edited. The pieces must be publish-ready. The writers should have a well-formed network and be ready to promote. If you are not well-known in your writing community, or you have a piece that only your grandma has seen, do not send it.
The 12 selections that we accept will be published in the 12 days of December leading up to Christmas. The books will be published as ebooks and in print. It's the real deal, just really fast!
Authors will receive a standard contract. Authors will be promoted, but we expect them to be ready to push themselves.

Keep U.P. Alive
Unsolicited Press is a beast that runs on good energy and dedicated editors and staff. Your donation helps pay these folks when books don't sell or we just break even. You see, our staff doesn't get paid until the bills and the authors are paid -- and sometimes that means we make pennies...we don't mind it, but your support really helps keep us afloat.
Order a Book, Save AN Author
You can buy our books through our website or from any major retailer in the nation. Some retailers take longer than others to acquire our books.

Listen to Literature
Most of our editors cherish our subscription with Audible. Right now they are offering free trials and a free audiobook. This is a great place to listen to Baxter's "The Art of Subtext." Think about it.
