Unsolicited Press Announces MOTHER!, a Hybrid Poetry + Essay Collection by Summer Stewart, Releasing May 8, 2026
Unsolicited Press announces the publication of MOTHER! by Summer Stewart, a fearless hybrid collection of poetry and essays releasing May 8, 2026.
In MOTHER!, Stewart delivers an unflinching exploration of womanhood—moving from pre-motherhood into the complicated, transformative aftermath—through work that is intimate, confrontational, and alive with clarity.
This collection traces the evolving contours of identity after childbirth while unveiling the layered realities of loss, sexuality, family, and matrilineal struggle. Stewart’s poems capture the friction of redefining sexuality and self-worth; her essays confront imposter syndrome, professional barriers, the distortions of parenting in the age of social media, and the unexpected feminist power of “standing back” as an act of self-preservation and self-advocacy.
