A Minnesota Book Award Finalist, THE THINGS YOU LEFT is a thirty-seven story collection built on magical realism and seemingly inconsequential moments between sweet and strange loners that meet in the space between the heart and the mind.

A couple throw plates at each other for therapy, a cat shape shifts into a woman, a man is obsessed with canned tuna, a woman relives time with her lover through objects left behind. Sometimes humorous, sometimes sad, The Things You Left explores love, addiction, relationships, and loss.

Reviews

Dreamlike short stories leave plenty of space for your mind to wander and wonder. Perfect to pick up before bed to help slip you into sleep, or during a stolen moment to engage all the little lost gears in your mind, or to read to your cat when she needs some empathetic engagement. A wonderful, rare read!

-- Miriam M. (originally posted on Amazon)

A modern and unique collection of stories that weave seamlessly between the worlds of reality and dream, tied together with thoughtful thematic and symbolic elements that often lead down a very queer and nuanced path. I also personally appreciate the magical content and Jewish cultural references! A refreshing take on the short fiction genre for sure!
