About the Book
The Beginner’s Guide to Minor Gods & Other Small Spirits is an ode to the interconnectedness of the sciences and the arts. Part spellbook, part Midwestern mythos, it fuses elements from biology, anatomy, and astrophysics with imagery from pop culture, fairytales, and folklore. It moves through and past the body to uncover the magic of the mundane, including face mites, Yahoo Answers, and unsolvable brain teasers.
About the Author
Kimberly Ramos is a queer Filipina writer from Southern Missouri. After earning a BA in Philosophy & Religion and a BFA in Creative Writing at Truman State University, they moved to Providence, Rhode Island, to study philosophy at Brown University (whatever that means). They are also the author of the chapbook Alive, Today, Again! published by Flume Press. They are nearly one fourth of the way to becoming a ghost.
